Happy 2013 everyone! So far, it’s off to a great start. It’s already starting to fill up: trips, weddings, changes. But for today, I have something yummy to share. An awesome oyster appetizer: muffin tin baked oysters.
These are usually holiday fare in our house, but better late than never because they are always appropriate and delicious. For Christmas appetizers, we bake oysters with butter, bacon, and cheese in a muffin tin, and then stand around in the kitchen eating them right out of the pan while they’re still nice and hot!
There’s really no measuring involved in these, just stick whatever you want in each tin with the oysters depending on your preferences.
Muffin Tin Baked Oysters
- Shucked Oysters, 1 pint
- Butter
- Garlic Powder
- Salt & Pepper
- Tabasco
- Worcestershire Sauce
- Bacon, cooked and chopped
- Shredded Cheddar
Preheat oven to 400.
Place 2 or 3 oysters in each muffin tin. Add a sprinkle of garlic powder, salt, and pepper, and a dash of Tabasco and Worcestershire on each. Add a small pad of butter, about 1/2 tsp, on each as well and bake for 10-15 minutes.
Remove tin from oven and raise oven temperature to broil. Add a sprinkle of bacon and cheese to each tin and broil for 3-4 minutes until cheese is melted. Remove from oven, be careful not to burn your mouth, and enjoy!

sounds delicious! we do the same thing (stand around and get ‘em while they’re hot) with our oyster appetizers, but we almost always fry them….
This look so yummy. I would want some bread to soak up all that delicious butter!
oh hell yeah
